How Lux Woods Wood Watches Started
I have always been a watch fanatic! I started taking them apart, and reassembling them when I was a kid, and have been collecting, modifying, and designing ever since!
When it came to my business, sustainably harvested wood was the only option for the wooden watches, just because I am a huge fan of natural products done right, and the thought of being able to design these wood watches, and see them come to life was a surreal feeling.
Would anyone like them? Will anyone pay for one? These are the thoughts that began to consume me, but I knew that it was time to set out on the most daunting task that I could imagine, getting the wife’s approval. We had two young kids at the time (still do), 2 & 10mos, and life was already a bit hectic, but I showed her my watch drawings (discussed later), showed her how passionate I was, and told her that this would be the charitable vehicle we needed to make a difference, and she was convinced. On to the creative process!
